1. Introduction

Welcome to Path Rational (“we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Path Rational app and related services. By registering or using the app, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Purpose of the App

Path Rational is a self-help digital tool based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). It provides:

 

 

 

  • AI-assisted conversations designed to help users explore emotional and behavioral difficulties

  • A structured pre-therapy or supplementary experience for individuals hesitant to seek formal therapy

  • Psychoeducational content, exercises, and goal setting for emotional and behavioral change

The app is not intended to replace professional therapy, diagnosis, or medical treatment.

3. Nature of the AI Service – Known and Unknown Risks

You understand and agree that Path Rational uses artificial intelligence (AI) language models (including OpenAI’s LLM) to deliver its services. These models:

 

 

 

  • Operate probabilistically and may occasionally generate incorrect, irrelevant, or biased content

  • May not fully understand or recall previous conversations

  • Cannot express human empathy, warmth, or judgment with perfect accuracy

By using Path Rational, you acknowledge and accept that:

 

 

 

  • The use of AI for mental health support carries both known and unknown risks

  • The service may not always respond accurately or appropriately

  • You are solely responsible for evaluating and interpreting the advice or insights provided

We do not guarantee therapeutic success or any particular outcome.

4. Eligibility

 

 

 

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the app independently.

  • If you are between 13–17 years old, you may use the app only with active parental or guardian consent.

  • The app is not intended for use by children under 13 years.

5. Not a Substitute for Emergency or Clinical Care

Path Rational is not suitable for:

 

 

 

  • Users in psychiatric crisis or with active suicidal ideation

  • Managing psychotic symptoms, trauma-related flashbacks, or severe depression

  • Medical emergencies or any situation requiring real-time intervention

If you are in a crisis, immediately contact emergency services or a licensed mental health professional.

6. User Responsibilities

By using the app, you agree to:

 

 

 

  • Use the service responsibly and within the intended scope of emotional and behavioral self-help

  • Not share content that is illegal, harmful, or promotes self-harm

  • Refrain from using the app for diagnostic purposes or on behalf of another person

  • Accept that advice provided is generic and not tailored to complex clinical needs

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

7. Supervision and Session Analysis

The app may include optional features like AI-assisted therapy facilitation or session review tools. These tools:

 

 

 

  • Are educational and reflective in nature

  • Are not a replacement for formal clinical supervision by a certified supervisor.

  • Should be used by trained professionals or students under guidance.

8. Intellectual Property

 

  • All content, structure, and functionality in the app are the intellectual property of Path Rational and Morphic Minds International.

  • You may not reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, or commercialize any part of the app without express written permission.

9. Data Privacy

Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the app, you agree to its terms, including:

 

 

 

  • Use of anonymized data for product improvement

  • Strict adherence to confidentiality, with exceptions only for safety and legal obligations

  • AI-generated content may be processed on third-party infrastructure (e.g., OpenAI servers)

10. Limitations of Liability

You agree that:

 

 

 

  • Path Rational and its developers are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of the app

  • The app does not guarantee specific emotional or behavioral outcomes

  • Advice given is to be used at your own discretion and is not professional mental health care

To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability is limited to INR ₹8,000 or the amount you paid in the last 6 months, whichever is lesser.

 

11. User Feedback and Content

 

 

 

  • If you share feedback, ideas, or content, you grant Path Rational a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use it for product improvement.

  • You must ensure that any content you submit does not violate intellectual property or privacy laws.

12. Termination of Use

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

 

 

 

  • You violate these Terms

  • You misuse the app for non-therapeutic, promotional, or harmful purposes

  • We discontinue the app or specific services (with prior notice where possible)

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms periodically. Users will be notified of material changes via in-app messages or email. Continued use of the app after changes implies acceptance.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India.
